INDUSTRIAL GENERATION AND MAINTENANCE POSITION
The Cumberland Municipal Utility is seeking a talented individual with a high mechanical aptitude for operation and maintenance of our industrial diesel engine-generator sets.
This individual must be able to take and follow instruction and work well with others. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to pay attention to detail.
The candidate must perform building maintenance, inside and out, as well as cleaning maintenance of the power plant and the utility office and have a good understanding of basic electrical maintenance and be willing to learn three phase electrical maintenance. They should have some carpentry, masonry, welding, and computer skills, be able to read blueprints, and have the willingness to keep learning as the utility moves into the future.
Applicant should be able to perform strenuous physical labor in all types of heights, humidity and temperature conditions in proximity to large diesel engines. They must be in good physical condition and must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Candidates could be subject to help in other areas of the utility and read electric ad water meters once a month. Applicant will be subject to “Call” on nights and weekends and must be able to respond within 30 minutes to the generating plant.
Selected candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol screening, pre-employment physical and a background check.
